Let the child within be alive….

Let the child within be alive….

Are you one of those kids who enjoys inflating tetra pack after drinking your favorite drink?

Do you find fun in pinning a balloon in a birthday party? and Chew the stick more than a lollipop?

For sure you must have enjoyed one of such things as a child and still wanted to do whenever you have an opportunity to do so. However, just not doing because, now you are a grown up man or a woman.

Take out time and nurture the child within you…. Let that little boy / girl in you be your companion who brings out more joy and fun than any external affairs.

Knowingly or unknowingly I have been let that child in me enjoy whatever he wants. the joy of it was truly realized only when I was 30. May be I was carrying this one wish with me as a child which finally fulfilled at the age of 30.

As a boy I grown up in a small town, where not much of sport amenities were available. And what all we know then was, go to the school and come back home. No magic planets, no sports halls nor adventurous parks.

But somehow, I wanted to be on wheels and even I wasn’t know the name for it then. By the time I learnt that it is called skating, I had no venue where I can get coached while I was still a school going boy. Being an adolescent and college student, I came to know there was a park with skate rink in the city of destination, Vizag on the coast of Bay of Bengal. Then I was neither in a position to buy a pair of skates nor to take out some time to invest on extracurricular activities as I was striving to manage my studies as well as part time jobs.

However, the child in me wanted to skate very badly.

I was strolling on Friday afternoon at Corniche, Abu Dhabi the capital of United Arab Emirates during winter 2012. After a walk of almost 5 kilometers stepped into the Marina mall to fill the stomach. While I was searching for a way to food court my eyes stuck with “ICE RINK” on a display board.

The little boy who wanted to skate badly woke up suddenly and only calm down after spending 1 hour on the Ice rink with cramped legs. There you go, since then I find one more time out for myself….. Ice skating followed by Inline skating. Unlike any learning (out door) process, I had bruised my knees and elbows, saw the blood oozed through palms. Still I never let the boy go down. Today I enjoy my inline skates.

The little boy in me enjoys Ice-cream coupled with Gulab Jamun, a bare foot walk along the coast, stuffy Upma, playing with balloons, a swing in the park, laughing out loud on funny things, spending a day only by watching movies and doing nothing, playing video games.

Do you allow the little one in you to do what he or she wants?
