OUTLOOK

Have you ever sat in the passenger seat of your own car and gone on a ride?

What did you notice? It is likely that you noticed many things that you would’ve otherwise missed while in the driver’s seat. Does this sound familiar ?

“I just want to know how much time would it take for a round trip,” said the chief of an event management company.

He had been to Gudilova – a village on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam many times. Yet, he wanted to travel another 50 miles only to check on the travel time. Didn’t he ever notice the length of time before?

I’m sure he must have had an idea. But why did he want to recheck the route while he was busy in looking at many other aspects of the proposed event that was supposed to take place in 10 days time?

My adolescent brain wasn’t convinced with his reasons. Moreover, the budding environmentalist had seen the task purely as a waste of fuel.

For the last one week, my mind has been pondering about this incident that I encountered in 2001.

When I finally sat down to pen my thoughts on this, I remembered another similar event, where I was insisting on my field member to make the visit to a met station installed in the middle of the desert. Despite the fact that he paid regular visits to the station.

The outlook of a member of the team and the leader are often different. Similarly, your views are completely different when you are associated to the event, that’s from a dissociated state.

When I insisted on my field member to double check, I was able to understand why that patron wanted to visit Gudilova one more time.

I leave you with this thought. Have you ever visited your life from a dissociated state?

If yes. Comment below.

What are your findings about yourself?

If not, accept the dare and try it out. Share your experience in the comments section.
