Competence

What clients are really interested in is honesty, plus a baseline of competence – Patrick Lencioni

Unconscious incompetence → Conscious incompetence → Conscious competence → Unconscious competence

As we move on in our career and new roles, there will be moments of awkwardness especially don’t you know even this?

Or

How did you come this far without knowing this? And various varieties of sarcasm by people around.
Remember that the moment that person is helping you to bring your unconscious incompetence to conscious incompetence.
Then it’s your will and wish to make that conscious incompetence to conscious competence followed by unconscious competence.
Most of us connect this example, of learning to ride a bicycle, a motorbike or even a car. If we go to the training class the day one we will be teased for not knowing the basics of how to hold the handle / steering. Then with lot of hearing from instructor (based on the instructor we chose / assigned) we start doing every thing to nearly perfection with all the focus on the particular activity.
Then it becomes our regular act we just do things so perfectly as we simulate our body and mind to the particular art / skill that becomes our unconscious competence.

Have you identified your conscious incompetence? Are you making any efforts to make your unconscious competence?

Wishing you the most
